Clarence Harlan, 82 , retired carpenter and operator of the old Airport Inn & Truck Stop, south of Attica on US 41, died Friday, April 22, 1977 in his home at 709 W. 9th St, Veedersburg. Born at Hillsboro, Mr. Harlan moved to Veedersburg from Waynetown 12 years ago. He retired from the truck stop in 1970. He was first married to Ella harper who died in 1960. His second marriage was to Martha Thomas and she survives. He was a member of Waynetown Christian Church. Surviving with the widow are a son, Clarence Harper, Jr. of Waynetown; one stepson, Robert Thomas of Veedersburg; two daughters, Mrs. Vivian Smith of Waynetown and Mrs. Nadine Shubert of Tempe, AZ; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Carol Brown of Covington; two foster children, Lee ANn Griffin of Covington and Scott Griffin of Veedersburg; two brothers, Vernie and Harry Harlan, both of Waynetown. A grandson preceded him. Services were Monday at Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. Herbert Woolard officiating. Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetey.
